Brushes and Brushholder

I use mainly Sable brushes now, they have enough positives to make up for the cost. Their tips never bend like Nylon brushes are bound to do which is very nice. So the last a long time a couple of a months with each brush with heavy use when it comes to me several hours every single day. The brush loses hairs as you use it and in the end it will be pretty thin. The part that like the most is that the tip is always straight and that helps allot when you want straight highlights.

With proper cleaning and care they last very long, I use two cleaners for my brushes. 1 is a heavy cleaner to get out grit gathering at the base of the brush is CeramCoat I get at hobby lobby, it was on clearance sale last time I was there and so I don't know if they carry it any more. I am sure they have similar brush cleaners there as well. The other cleaner which is very important for sable brushes is Pink soap its a cleaner conditioner that will keep those bristles happy. Sables tend to get dry and start spreading pink soap takes care of that problem.

The last pic is of my handmade brush holder, I made it in Woodshop back in Sweden when I was 16 to hold my brushes for my growing interest in painting minis and its still with me working excellently. Just a sanded block of wood with holes drilled into the top.
